How to specify a custom lid and base box
Choose the construction
Lid and base boxes are a two-piece rigid structure — a separate lid lifts straight off the base, unlike a hinged or magnetic-flap box. Most styles need no extra hardware to stay closed; a ribbon tie or magnetic closure is available on selected styles.
Board and paper
The box is made from corrugated board, cardboard, coated art paper or specialty fine art paper, giving you a choice between a sturdier corrugated build and a lighter, premium-finish paper wrap.
Printing and finishing
Artwork is printed by CMYK offset printing and finished with matt or gloss lamination, spot UV and varnish on most styles. Embossing/debossing and foil stamping are available for logo detail.
Inserts
A cardboard or paperboard insert is the most common way to hold products in place; foam inserts are available for cosmetics, bottles or fragile items.
Size and quantity
Every box is made to your product's inner dimensions. Send your item size, quantity and artwork; MOQ starts at 500 pcs on most styles, with 1,000 pcs also available.

What is the minimum order quantity for lid and base boxes?
Most styles start at 500 pcs, with 1,000 pcs also available. Your quote confirms the wholesale MOQ for the size, board and finish you choose.
Does a lid and base box need a closure to stay shut?
No. The lid lifts straight off the base and most styles need no separate hardware. A ribbon tie or magnetic closure is available on selected styles if you want the lid to hold shut.
How long does production take?
Lead time is typically 15 days after the artwork and sample are approved. Shipping time depends on your destination and shipping method; we ship to more than 50 countries.
Do you help with the box design?
Yes, the design service is free. Send your logo, product dimensions and references, and we prepare the design for your approval before production.
What inserts can I add?
